broken philips sonicare flex toothbrush

I did a lot of research on which toothbrush to get. After much reading I got the philips sonicare flex. now I'm regretting it. I just sits in the cradle and refuses to charge. No matter how clean I get the charger or which outlet I use. Then it started making an odd half-on/half-off sound. The buttons no longer work to adjust from clean to sensitive, etc. I'm worried Philips is going to give me a hard time on the return - I've read that they do. After spending over a hundred bucks I just want something that works for at least a few years. Frustrating. I'll update this to let you know how much trouble philips gives me on the return. I bought the product on amazon 4 months ago.
